Scripture Focus: Matthew 4:12-25 (NKJV)
Today, I want to share with you what the Lord has put on my heart as it relates to the last 13 verses of Matthew 4. Today, I want to talk to you about:
- The Timing of God
- The Kingdom of Heaven
- How God Initiates
- Teaching, Preaching and Healing
As I continue to read the Word of God and ask God for knowledge, understanding and wisdom as it pertains to His ways and His working power, it is becoming more apparent to me that God has a time and place for everything and that his thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. It is increasingly more apparent to me that God has a time and place for everything. A season for everything. Ecclesiastes talks about this, but the first thing that jumped out to me in Matthew chapter 4:12 is where it says “Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee”… and in verse 17 it says … “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
What I love about these verses is that Jesus knew when it was His time to make himself known to the community of Galilee. He knew that he was entering a new season of His life. He knew that now was the time to release His call and walk into the purpose of why He came to earth and make His name known.
In this teaching I took the opportunity to share my personal story about how God initiated with me. God moved greatly this evening and I hope you will be blessed.
